At least 10 Rider basketball games will be televised on the ESPN family of networks this season, beginning Thanksgiving week

The first of at least 10 Rider University basketball games televised on the ESPN family of networks will air this Thanksgiving week.
The Broncs play at No. 5 Kansas on Monday, Nov. 24, on ESPN3 and take on No. 19 Michigan State Thanksgiving night on ESPN2 in the Orlando Classic. On Friday, Nov. 28, Rider will play either Marquette or Georgia Tech on ESPN3 and an opponent to be determined this Sunday, Nov. 30, on one of the ESPN channels.
ESPN3 will also show two hOURglass Rivalry away games, beginning with Saint Peter’s on Jan. 29 and following with Monmouth on Feb. 26. The game at Quinnipiac on Jan. 15 will also be on ESPN3, as well as the home game with Fairfield to be played on Feb. 5.
The trip to Lawrence, Kansas, will begin a nine-day, four-game road trip. The game, which can also be heard on 107.7 FM The Bronc and at www.gobroncs.com, takes place at 8 p.m. ET in Kansas’ historic Allen Fieldhouse.
The Broncs (2-1) are coming off a 78-74 win over Lehigh in the season’s home opener. In that game, junior Teddy Okereafor compiled a career-high 29 points and a career-high six rebounds, along with three steals and three assists.
Along with Duke and Kentucky, Kansas is one of the most prestigious college basketball programs in the country. The Jayhawks are 1-1 this year, defeating Cal Santa Barbara before losing to No. 1 Kentucky. The team was 25-10 last year, reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Over the last 11 years, Kansas has averaged over 29 wins per season, taking the national title in 2008.
Rider played Kansas in 1987-88, the year Kansas won the national title led by Danny Manning. The Broncs also visited Kansas during the 1990-91 season.
Rider head coach Kevin Baggett visited Kansas during the 1986-87 season as a recruit, before deciding on Saint Joseph’s.
