Students invited to learn from experts in their fields on Nov. 6
by David J. Pavlak
On Nov. 6, the Rider Law and Justice Society, Alumni Relations, Career Services and Annual Giving are co-sponsoring a career in criminal justice session led by five different speakers talking in detail about each field.
The five speakers include:
- Alain Liebman, former U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey
- Maryann Bielamowicz ’70, former Mercer Country Prosecutor and a retired New Jersey Superior Court judge
- Cheryl Humes, a private practice attorney who has had extensive experience in the Lewisburg Prison Project, a nonprofit prisoners’ rights organization
- Katie Magee, an Assistant Prosecutor for Mercer County
- Edwin Lee Jr., Director of Juvenile Parole and Transition Services for New Jersey
“We are very fortunate to have this unusually wide array of experts available to us,” says Lynn Schindel, Associate Director in the Office of Alumni Relations. “Learning about the legal system is relevant information for anyone in our society. For our students, this is an opportunity to engage with some of the best and brightest minds in their respective fields.”
The program is also a Cranberry Calvary event, which is a group established on campus that gives students the chance to learn, network and give back to Rider.
All those who are interested are encouraged to register at alumni.rider.edu/signupnow. Walk-ups to the event are still welcome to attend.
The event will be held in North Hall 202 from 6-7:30 p.m.
