Keynote Address Highlights National Campus Sustainability Day
by Kristine A. Brown
Adrian Grenier, best known for his starring role in the Emmy-nominated HBO series Entourage, will be the keynote speaker for Rider University’s National Campus Sustainability Day, Thursday, October 24 at 7 p.m. The event will take in Rider’s Bart Luedeke Center.
National Campus Sustainability Day is a time to recognize the successes, challenges and innovation of sustainability in higher education. This year’s theme is “Climate Adaptation: Resilient Campuses & Communities.”
From 2004 to 2011, Grenier portrayed Entourage’s Vincent Chase, a movie star from New York navigating the unfamiliar Los Angles scene with his childhood friends. Since making his big screen debut in 1997, Grenier has also branched out into filmmaking, producing and directing.
Grenier continues to use his celebrity status positively to help nudge sustainability into pop culture. His 13-part Discovery Channel, Planet Green TV series, Alter Eco, inspired every day Americans to adopt a more eco-friendly lifestyle by having young adults demonstrate how to live more sustainably. Grenier also co-founded the webby award-winning, new media platform shft.com, which offers original video series, curated shopping, and a host of resources that speak to a modern, inspired and sustainable lifestyle.
During his presentation at Rider, Grenier will discuss ways in which to live more environmentally conscious.
The event is free and open to the Rider community and the public. Advance registration is not required. For more information, visit www.rider.edu/broncsgogreen.
