by Kristine A. Brown
Anne Carroll, Ph.D., former associate dean for Rider University’s College of Business Administration, has been appointed interim dean for CBA effective July 16, 2014.
Dr. Carroll has been affiliated with Rider since September 1986 when she joined the University as a faculty member in the finance department. She continued teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses until being named associate dean in January 2011. In this capacity Dr. Carroll has served as the chief operating officer for CBA and academic leader for its undergraduate programs.
“Anne has been actively involved in the day-to-day operations of CBA for more than three years and I look forward to her fostering the continued progress of the College,” says DonnaJean Fredeen, Rider University’s provost and vice president of academic affairs.
Dr. Carroll has been involved with several key curricular projects both as associate dean and as a faculty member. She played a leadership role in the revamping of both the undergraduate and MBA programs, working with faculty, employers and others to move these programs forward. In addition, she has been involved in the development of two new programs in the College: the sport management co-major and the health care management major. “Working closely with the faculty and other university departments, I hope to continue that forward momentum in my new position as interim dean,” Dr. Carroll says.
She adds, “Further developing international and community college partnerships will also be a focus for me. I am excited to take on this role at a time when CBA is proudly celebrating its 150th anniversary.”
Dr. Fredeen says Dr. Carroll will serve in this position until a permanent dean is appointed. Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates, a nationally recognized executive search firm specializing in senior level searches for colleges and universities, is assisting in the search process.
Dr. Carroll earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and a master’s and doctorate in insurance and risk management from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
