Outstanding students noted for academic achievements and dedication
On Saturday, April 30, the Andrew J. Rider Scholars were honored at a ceremony in the Bart Luedeke Center Theater.
This award, named for the founder and first president of the institution, is given only to the top one percent of seniors, juniors and sophomores in each of Rider’s six academic colleges and schools — the College of Business Administration, the College of Continuing Studies, the School of Education, the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Westminster Choir College, and the School of Fine and Performing Arts.
The awards are based on the students' grade point averages.
President Gregory G. Dell'Omo and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs DonnaJean A. Fredeen were both in attendance. The students' respective deans — Elad Granot of the College of Business Administration; Boris Vilic of the College of Continuing Studies; Sharon J. Sherman of the School of Education; Interim Dean Jonathan Millen of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Matthew Shaftel of the Westminster College of the Arts, which comprises the School of Fine and Performing Arts and Westminster Choir College — awarded certificates to a total of 56 students during the ceremony.
