The College and University Public Relations and Associated Professionals (CUPRAP) presented the 9th Annual CUPPIE Awards this year. Winners were announced during a special awards ceremony at the 2016 Spring Conference in Hershey, Pa.
Rider University’s Office of University Communications and Marketing team won a silver in Public Relations for the PR campaigns for Fulfilling the Promise — Rider Celebrates 150 Years and a bronze in special event promotion for Rider Breaks a World Record.
“I can attest that a lot of hard work was undertaken by many talented individuals during our sesquicentennial year that allowed for our team to be recognized with these awards,” says Kristine Brown, interim assistant vice president for University Communications and Marketing. “It is always gratifying when others acknowledge that effort with accolades such as this, as a testament to our creativity and teamwork.”
Three hundred and eighty entries were received from colleges, universities, and providers of private, specialized and secondary education in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, and Wisconsin. Judges represented experts in the field of communications and included designers, writers, educators, corporate executives and media professionals.
"I feel very fortunate to work with so many talented and dedicated colleagues," says Aimee LaBrie, communications director. "Both awards are truly the result of a collective effort, and I know that all of us feel proud to be recognized for these efforts."
