Graduating students are invited to submit videos for the Cruisin’ From Commencement Contest
One lucky student can drive away from Rider University’s graduation in a new Toyota iM and then go on a Royal Caribbean cruise to celebrate.
For the second year, Rider’s student radio station, 107.7 The Bronc, is offering members of the Class of 2017 the chance to take home these impressive prizes through their unique Cruisin’ From Commencement contest.
“We are so excited to offer this incredible opportunity to students,” said John Mozes, general manager of 107.7 The Bronc. “Our students work so hard during their time at Rider, and this contest is one more way to show our appreciation for that dedication in the classroom and to reward a student with a life-changing prize.”
All graduating students — undergraduate and graduate — are eligible to enter the contest by creating a two-minute video about a personal experience they’ve had at Rider University. The video can highlight their development as a leader, an aspect of community service or service learning, a global or cultural experience, an Internship or professional experience, a student/faculty collaboration or mentorship, or an experience with the arts at Rider.
Entries will be accepted until Friday, May 5, 2017.
A panel of judges will narrow the field of entries to the 10 best submissions. Each of the 10 finalists will receive a key that may potentially start the car on Commencement day. The winner of the contest will be revealed when he or she is able to start the car, and the other nine finalists will win a variety of consolation prizes.
“The contest encourages our students to dream,” says Mozes. “At Commencement, they will have earned the dream of receiving their diploma, and one of them will also realize the dream of winning a car and a cruise as well.”
Mozes says this promotion is the only one of its kind among college radio stations.
“Not only is 107.7 The Bronc one of the best college radio stations in the nation, we are completely focused on providing entertainment, amazing contests and prizes like this to the Rider student body,” he says.
This trip giveaway is part of the Bronc’s Semester of Vacations promotion, in which the station is awarding three trips to students this spring. In addition to the Commencement contest, the station offered a weekend getaway for two to Chicago for the Dessert Wars: Let Them Eat Cake Bake-Off, and a Royal Caribbean Cruise to the Bahamas for The Eggscellent Egg Hunt 2.
