Elad Granot will join the Rider on July 1, 2015
Elad Granot has been named Dean of the College of Business Administration. Granot will join Rider on July 1, 2015.
“Elad brings a wealth of academic and professional experience to Rider University, including a record of effective and inspiring leadership, proven management and financial skills, and an entrepreneurial spirit that will elevate the College of Business Administration to the next level,” said DonnaJean Fredeen, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.
Fredeen noted Granot's multifaceted experience, which includes institutional planning, curriculum development, program assessment, policy development, and international educational programs and partnerships.
"In addition, Dr. Granot has demonstrated the ability to encourage, develop, and support quality teaching, scholarly research, and creative activity, and to build effective relationships with external constituents," Fredeen said.
At Cleveland State University, Granot served in a number of progressively responsible roles, most notably as assistant dean for MBA programs, special assistant to the provost for eLearning development, special assistant to the president for global initiatives, and director of graduate and undergraduate student services and academic recruiting, advising, and support. Granot was instrumental in building the MBA program to become the largest in Ohio, maintaining the College’s AACSB accreditation, globalizing the Cleveland State brand presence, and building new, online course offerings and strategies.
Along with publications in 15 refereed journals and numerous refereed conference papers, Granot has been recognized for excellence in teaching by Cleveland State multiple times, being awarded the Merit Award for Teaching Excellence and the CSU Nance College of Business Administration Legacy Award for Excellence in Teaching.
His professional affiliations include AACSB, Executive MBA Council, American Marketing Association, Academy of Marketing Science, Society of Marketing Advances, Association of Consumer Research, American Academy of Advertising, Eastern Academy of Management and Alpha Kappa Epsilon – International Business Honor Society.
“In his new role, Elad will build upon the many current strengths of the College and provide imaginative, forward-looking and inspirational leadership to a strong and committed community of faculty, staff and students,” said Fredeen, who also recognized Dr. Anne Carroll for her “excellent and dedicated service as interim dean.”
Upon Granot’s arrival in July, Carroll will return to her former role of associate dean for the College of Business Administration. “Dr. Carroll is a trusted and valued colleague and I truly appreciate her commitment to the College of Business Administration and Rider University,” Fredeen said.
