Former Wawa CEO Howard Stoeckel '67 will be the keynote speaker

Rider University’s College of Business Administration, MIDJersey Chamber of Commerce, New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce, and Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce have collaborated to present Strengthening New Jersey’s Future: Advancing the partnership between business and higher education, a networking breakfast and panel discussion on Tuesday, March 10, from 8 to 10 a.m.
Rider alumnus Howard Stoeckel '67, former chief executive officer of Wawa, Inc., and former chair of the Rider Board of Trustees, will present the keynote speech. This will be followed by a panel discussion focusing on higher education and business working together to prepare the workforce of tomorrow.
Panelists include Robert D. Prunetti, president of MIDJersey Chamber of Commerce; Tom Bracken, president of New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce; Peter Crowley, president of Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce, and David L. Cohen, executive vice president of Comcast Corporation. The panel will be moderated by Dr. DonnaJean Fredeen, provost and vice president of academic affairs at Rider.
In celebration of Rider University’s 150th anniversary, four Sesquicentennial Medals of Excellence will also be presented. Recipients include The Independent College Fund of New Jersey, Johnson & Johnson, and two Rider alumni, William M. Rue ’69, chairman of Rue Insurance, and Mark A. Wolters ’95, president and chief executive officer of Grand Bank.
The event will be held in the Bart Luedeke Center of Rider University, 2083 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville. Cost is $30 for members and non-members, and $10 for current students.
