Dr. Jason Vodicka will present practical techniques for utilizing dialogue as a learning tool in the choral rehearsal setting.
Dialogue has been a foundational pedagogical tool in general education for centuries, but we in music usually ask our students to simply listen silently and passively follow our instructions. Dialogue can be utilized to engage students in active learning, and to incorporate their ideas into the artistic processes of listening, performing, and responding to music. This session presents practical techniques for utilizing dialogue as a learning tool in the choral rehearsal setting.
