Join us for an hour-long student-moderated conversation celebrating the legacy of Motown! Our distinguished panel of guests will tell their story the way it really happened, not what may have been a history altered by others. They will discuss what it was like to be successful Black writers, artists, and executives living in a world where Blacks were not welcome to eat, use restrooms, or be housed in the same places that afforded Whites those same privileges.

This program was made possible because of the connections that Dr. Pamela "Moffett" Pruitt, executive director of the Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) has with her former colleagues within the Motown family. Dr. Pruitt is also a Grammy-award winning songwriter, having written songs for Smokey Robinson, The Supremes, and other artists. A social mixer will follow the formal program. Download our curated list of delicious cocktail recipes to make at home and sip on during the social mixer!
