Sponsored by Rider and the American Legion, the Veteran Career Fair aids veteran job seekers, active duty military, members of the National Guard and reserve components, and military spouses.

Job seekers who are veterans of the United States Armed Services, including those on active duty, members of the National Guard and reserve components, as well as military spouses, are invited to Honoring Our Heroes: A Veteran Career Fair and Military Expo on Thursday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center on the Lawrenceville campus. This event, free to employers and job seekers, will also be open to the non-military public beginning at 11 a.m. It is sponsored by Rider University and the American Legion.
The Veteran Career Fair and Military Expo is for all veterans and their families seeking information about career paths, employment opportunities and support organizations. Rider is partnering with veteran-friendly organizations to identify job opportunities, trade programs, and Veterans Administration support programs.
This event will offer breakout sessions on various career paths, educational opportunities, making the transition from the military to the civilian life, leveraging one’s military experience in the job market, and other related sessions geared toward the unique needs of veterans and their families.

Using the Latest Technology to Enhance Your Job Search
In this session, participants will learn how to use Simplyhired.com, indeed.com and LinkedIn in a job search campaign. This session is designed for job seekers who have already identified the types of jobs and positions they want to pursue.
Graduate Business Degree: Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) or Master of Accountancy (M.Acc.)
Key considerations and approaches to a graduate degree in business. Topics: preparing for a graduate degree while in an undergraduate program, selecting a program that is right for you, and understanding your return on investment.

A discussion of Vet Center Services, including combat trauma and its impact on education
Résumé Writing and Interview Skills
This workshop will discuss the key components necessary to present your training and experience in résumé format. A review of interview skills will also be discussed and practiced. Computers and printers will be available.
