Students will have exclusive, experiential learning opportunities for financial proficiency
Rider has partnered with the Barron's in Education program to ensure future business leaders are equipped with the necessary financial literacy skills. Rider is the first college or university in New Jersey to participate in the program.
The Barron's in Education program consists of numerous experiential learning opportunities for students and faculty in the College of Business Administration (CBA) including an invitation for a small group to visit the Dow Jones Headquarters, a tour of the Barron's, Wall Street Journal and MarketWatch newsrooms, free access to Barron's online content, intern and job opportunities from Barron's corporate recruitment team, and guest speakers and webinars from Dow Jones and Barron's.
The partnership was made possible by a friend of the University, L. Marc Shegoski. He is a managing director with UBS, and the senior partner of Princeton Investment Consulting based in Princeton, N.J. All aspects of the program come at no cost to Rider students and faculty.
"We are incredibly thankful for Marc's generous support and his facilitation of the Barron's in Education program at Rider," says CBA Dean Dr. Cindy Newman. "The direct access our students will have to some of the top financial publications and thought leaders is the type of engaged learning experiences we are always striving for at Rider."
Newman will also have to ability to nominate up to four students to become Dow Jones/Barron’s student ambassadors. The students will be trained as on-campus experts and have direct communication with the Joe Lanza, head of financial education at Dow Jones Media Group, and team members.
"We are delighted to partner with Rider University to bring the Barron's in Education program to all students and faculty of the College of Business Administration, with support from L. Marc Shegoski of UBS," says Lanza. "Barron's in Education is very pleased to have Rider University be the first school in New Jersey to implement this program."
