Changes will ensure a steady flow of traffic
Several traffic pattern changes on the Lawrenceville campus beginning Sunday, Sept. 6, through Tuesday, Sept. 8, will affect faculty and staff. These will be made to ensure a steady flow of traffic during New Student Move-In Day on Sunday and the return on Monday and Tuesday of continuing resident students.
On Sunday, Sept. 6, the main gate will be closed all day. All traffic will enter and exit campus via the south gate. Faculty Drive, which runs from the mall roadway past the Memorial parking lot entrance, will become a one-way road. Cars exiting the Memorial lot will only be permitted to turn left with traffic flowing from the mall toward the back of campus.
On Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 7 and 8, the main gate will be open. Faculty Drive will again become a one-way road from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. All traffic will proceed one-way from the mall to College Drive, which runs behind the Science and Technology Center toward the back of campus. Cars exiting the Memorial lot will only be permitted to turn left. This means that cars exiting campus from the lot will do so by first driving around the back of campus and leaving by way of the south or main gates.
Please plan accordingly as a large influx of continuing resident students are expected on Monday and some on Tuesday. Traffic will be heaviest along the mall. In the event of traffic problems that day, the main gate may be closed for a period of time and traffic re-directed via the south gate.
Please also be aware that this traffic pattern may be repeated on Wednesday, Sept. 9, should there be a large influx of returning students that day as well. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Public Safety at 609-896-5029.
Your help is appreciated as Rider implements these changes in order to accommodate the campus access needs of all members of our University community during this busy time.
