Rider is the site of active shooter training to be held on the Lawrenceville campus Thursday, July 16, from 1 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. and again on Friday, July 17, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. in Fraternity House #3 (Phi Sigma Sigma House) located between the General Services Building and West Village (nearest the fraternity parking lot).
The training, conducted by the Capital Health Systems, will instruct first responders in providing emergency medical services in active shooter situations. The training will be observed by members of the Rider Public Safety Department. Participants will carry mock firearms and will remain within the area of Phi Sigma Sigma House during the training. There will also be a sound simulator used inside Phi Sigma Sigma House to mimic the sound of gunfire. We stress that no actual firearms will be used during this training and the training poses no threat.
If you have any questions regarding this training, please call Vickie Weaver, Director of Public Safety, at ext. 5049.
