Biography
Naa’san Carr is Student Worker and Media Specialist at the Center for Diversity and Inclusion, hired in May 2021. Naa’san oversees Rider communications and social media messaging and further develops a CDI Newsletter/Publication. He manages the CDI calendar for the entire team and all CDI events and meetings; assists with the journey map of events, the CDI Google Drive and Google Calendar and also monitors the CDI website for updates needed. Naa’san also assists with the space management of the physical Center for Diversity and Inclusion, including any necessary protocols Provides support to Chief of Staff and other Student Workers, assist AD with management of the scheduling of Room Requests for CDI through 25LIVE and assist AD with management and development of Spirituality efforts with student groups and outside clergy, in alignment with Interfaith America (IA) counsel for the Spirituality work.
In addition to his regular duties at the Center for Diversity and inclusion, Naa’san is the first Black Student Government Association (SGA) Student Body President, Public Relations Chair for Black Student Union (BSU) and Black Men Unified (BMU), Public Relations Director for Rider African Student Association (RASA), and hosts the first and only radio show at Rider University’s 107.7 The Bronc FM titled BLACK LOVE ~ INSPIRING BLACK CULTURE. He is a student representative on the President’s Council on Inclusion and Rider Resource Pantry. He is also a member of the Milstone Scholars program (MSP), Student Support Services (SSS), Rider Latinas Unidas (RLU), Unashamed Gospel Voices (UGV), Abled and Disabled Advocates Persisting Together (ADAPT), and Political Science Club. Naa’san is an advocate for justice, equity, diversity and inclusion; and an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community.
