Valerie Simpson, Grammy Trustee and ASCAP Founders Award-winner, performer, and composer and the Westminster Jubilee Singers, conducted by professor Vinroy Brown
Rider University and The Business of Media in collaboration with student co-curricular initiative Tapestry present Trustee Grammy and ASCAP Founder's Awards winner, performer and composer Valerie Simpson for an afternoon of reflection and conversation. Ms. Simpson will be interviewed by Rider students while seated at a grand piano on the stage of the Yvonne Theater on the Rider University campus. There will also be a performance by the Westminster Jubilee Singers conducted by professor Vinroy D. Brown, Jr.
Ms. Simpson will discuss business and artistic lessons learned during her and her late husband, Nick Ashford's career that include composing many iconic hits that include, "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "You're All I Need to Get By," "I'm Every Woman," "Reach Out and Touch" and many more.
