Are you working on a book manuscript, article, grant application, dissertation or other writing project that would benefit from five solid days of uninterrupted writing? Do you need a quiet space in which to write and the support of colleagues who are also writing? This is a great opportunity for faculty and staff to pursue their scholarly publication goals in a distraction-reduced environment focused on accountability.
From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on June 3-7, participants will work on their own writing or writing-related activities, with an hour for lunch with other participants and invited guests.
Please consider your schedule before registering; a six-hour per day uninterrupted commitment is required for participation in this retreat.
Ten participants will be accepted to this retreat; all participants should plan to attend the full week and have a clearly defined writing project related to their scholarship or specific to their work at Rider. Priority will be given to junior faculty wanting to publish for promotion and tenure.
Each year, multiple participants complete drafts or revisions of works in progress and submit them for publication. Several participants report having had submissions accepted for publication.
