Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification

For individuals who have a bachelor’s degree in a non-teaching related area and are looking to change careers. Those interested in secondary education should have completed coursework in a specific content area, such as Biology, English, or Social Studies. Those interested in teaching in an Elementary or Preschool setting should have a background in liberal arts. Format: full-time and part-time, 21-24 credits

2-year NJ Alternate Route Teaching Certification

For individuals who have obtained a Certificate of Eligibility (CE) through the NJ Department of Education, have attended a 50-hour pre-professional CE program, and have been hired as a full-time teacher by a New Jersey public school based on their CE. The school district must then agree to enroll the individual in the program as part of the Provisional Teacher Process. Format: part-time, 27 credits
