Because classes were not in session during the actual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, Rider will celebrate his legacy during its Black History Month celebration.
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?’”
Last year, Rider University answered when more than 80 students served 300 Trenton-area youth in honor of King.
Rider students, faculty and staff are invited to celebrate through service on February 17, as part of Black History Month. Rider Bonner Community Scholars are requesting volunteers to facilitate fun, educational activities for elementary and middle-school age children at two Boys & Girls Club sites. Volunteers will be trained before departing to the sites. Volunteering will begin at 3:15 p.m. and end at 6 p.m.
To register use the following link: MLK Day of Service Sign-Up. Then on February 17, check-in at 2:45 p.m. in the BLC Lobby. Transportation will be available.
