It’s important to give back and help your community. Rider gave me many opportunities to volunteer and help those who may be less fortunate.

The Proof Is In Our People

Why Theresa Chose Rider

“Lawrenceville is my hometown so my choice was an easy one,” said Theresa, noting that the campus felt small and large at the same time. “I especially appreciated the small classrooms, because I received the one-on-one attention I wanted, particularly in math.”

Rider's Impact on Theresa's Success

Theresa credits her career growth to her business studies at Rider. “The College of Business Administration taught me real-life skills that I would need in the professional world,” Theresa said. “All the role playing and writing exercises we did helped shaped my confidence and provided me with the necessary skills to land a job during a tough economy.” Theresa currently works on the Bristol-Myers Squibb account for Johnson Controls, a global diversified technology and industrial company. She’s involved in client relationship management, branding and equity, workflow and much more — all putting her Rider skills to good use.

Continued Success

As a fundraising board member for the non-profit organization, UrbanPromise Trenton, Theresa continues to give back. “Although maintaining a good GPA and networking while you’re in college is very important, it’s also important to give back and help your community. Rider gave me many opportunities to volunteer and help those who may be less fortunate. It’s something I’ve become very passionate about and will never stop doing,” Theresa said.

  • 3 Months
Time it took for Theresa to land her first job after graduation.

  • Connections
Theresa held an internship with the EFK Group (a full-service advertising agency) during her junior year, where she assisted event planners on the Nike Primetime Tour. As a senior, she interned as an assistant to custom-made men’s fashion designer Stephen Seo, whose suits were showcased as the official clothing designer on HBO’s Entourage.
