Rider provided leadership opportunities and internships that allowed me to develop professionally.

The Proof Is In Our People

Why Puneet Chose Rider

Puneet was attracted to Rider by its great location and the reputation of the College of Business Administration and Accounting program, which are both accredited by AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. He also felt Rider offered opportunities for him to get involved, take on leadership roles and gain “real-world” work experience.

Rider's Impact on Puneet's Success

As a Rider undergrad, Puneet served as vice president of the Accounting Society and public relations chair of Beta Alpha Psi honor society for Accounting, Finance and Computer Information Systems majors. He also was involved in DAARSTOC (a leadership development organization at Rider), where he found a guiding hand in advisor Dr. Gene Kutcher. “Dr. Kutcher is one of my biggest mentors in life. He gave me positive, constructive feedback I used to improve myself. I could talk to him about any decision. Every time I stepped out of his office, I had a better idea of what to do.”

Puneet gained valuable experience in accounting through a summer internship in the audit division of EisnerAmper LLP, which he parlayed into a job offer. He also honed his skills during a summer externship at KPMG and a six-month co-op in the accounting and finance department at Johnson & Johnson. “Rider provided leadership opportunities and internships that allowed me to develop professionally. Through DAARSTOC, I put into practice professional skills, received valuable feedback and  built a close-knit network of alumni and students.”

Continued Success

“As part of the audit team at EisnerAmper, I work in the execution of the services provided to the firm’s clients. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to, application of accounting principles and auditing procedures to client engagements, preparation of work papers and recommendations to these engagements.”

  • Real-World Experience
Puneet competed on a team from Rider’s College of Business Administration that placed third in the national Johnson & Johnson Business Case Competition. The team prepared a financial analysis and marketing strategy involving the launch of former prescription allergy medicine, Zyrtec, to the over-the-counter marketplace.

  • Full-time Job
Puneet held a co-op at Johnson & Johnson, an externship at KPMG, and an internship at EisnerAmper, which led to a full-time job offer prior to his graduation.

  • Recognition
Hard work paid off for Puneet, recipient of the 2011-12 Dr. Belmont F. Haydel Phi Sigma Kappa Endowed Scholarship and the SAP University Alliances Community Scholarship, as well as the 2010—11 Lewis D. Coleman’50/Steven B. Kalafer ’71 Endowed Scholarship.
