Sacred Music Faculty
Dr. Amanda Quist is associate professor and department chair of Conducting, Organ, and Sacred Music at Westminster Choir College. She conducts the Westminster Chapel Choir and Westminster Kantorei, and she teaches graduate and undergraduate conducting. She is the recipient of Westminster Choir College of Rider University’s 2014 Distinguished Teaching Award.
Joe Miller is conductor of two of America’s most renowned choral ensembles: the Westminster Choir and the Westminster Symphonic Choir. He is also director of choral activities at Westminster Choir College of Rider University. In addition to his responsibilities at Westminster, Dr. Miller is artistic director for choral activities for the renowned Spoleto Festival USA and director of the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir.
Tom T. Shelton, Jr. is a native of Greensboro, N.C. and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he earned both a Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in Choral Conducting. He is assistant professor of Sacred Music at Westminster Choir College. Focusing on children’s and youth music at Westminster, he teaches classes in conducting, sacred music and music education. In addition, he is the director of Children's and Youth Choirs at Princeton United Methodist Church. He is also conductor of the Westminster Neighborhood Children’s Choir.
VINROY D. BROWN, JR., is an active conductor, musician and music educator. He serves on the Conducting, Organ & Sacred Music faculty at Westminster Choir College where he conducts the Westminster Jubilee Singers. An active church musician, He is Director of Music & Worship Arts at Elmwood United Presbyterian Church. In addition to his duties at Elmwood, he also serves as Director of Choir & Worship Ministries at New Creation of the Apostolic Faith.
Marking her 25th year as conductor of the Westminster Concert Bell Choir, Kathleen Ebling Shaw is a member of the sacred music department at Westminster Choir College of Rider University, where she teaches classes in handbell training and conducts a second handbell choir. She is a graduate of Westminster Choir College.
