Vision & Values

We envision residential communities that develop skilled, thriving, well-rounded and confident individuals who are prepared to take on the challenges they will encounter in their future endeavors. Rider’s Residence Life supports the Division of Student Affairs values by promoting:

  • A VIBRANT CAMPUS COMMUNITY: Provide innovative and creative programming following our VALUES model, in collaboration with campus partners.
  • DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION: Build inclusive communities that respect the rights, freedoms and individual differences of all people.
  • STUDENT SUCCESS: Develop and maintain university-wide first-year experience programs, promote health and well-being in support of holistic development
  • CO-CURRICULAR LEARNING: Offer engaged learning opportunities, role model leadership, and provide Living Learning Communities that integrate in- and out-of-class learning.

Mission Statement

Residence Life provides a vibrant living- learning experience that fosters safe communities where academic success, personal growth, diversity and mutual respect are encouraged. We provide co-curricular experiences that are essential to the development of our students. 

Student Learning Outcomes 

As a result of living in a residence life community, students will:

  • Value inclusion by engaging in diverse communities.
  • Examine the impact of their social identities and values on the community
  • Recognize the importance of self-advocacy and personal responsibility. 

Student Success Outcomes

As a result of living in a residence life community, students will:

  • Achieve a higher level of academic success as a result of engaging with students, faculty, and staff of varied academic interests.
  • Experience a higher degree of engagement in campus activities, student organizations and utilization of campus resources.
