Confirmed positive cases

This chart indicates laboratory-confirmed and/or self-reported COVID-19 positive cases reported to the University involving students and employees. Please note: Those who reside or work off campus and have had no contact whatsoever on campus since the start of the fall semester are NOT included in these figures.  This data is intended to provide information regarding positive cases related specifically to the physical campus.

On-campus figures include students or employees who live or work on campus or who have been on campus during their infectious period and regardless of where they live (e.g. attending an in-person class, practice or event; studying in the library; eating on campus; working out in the SRC).

Off-campus figures include students or employees who tested positive but do not currently work or reside on campus and who have not been on campus during their infectious period.

On-campus testing

This chart includes the number of student tests conducted on campus.  It does not reflect the number of tests that students or employees take off campus.  With regard to the latter, positive test results are recorded in the chart above.

The Student Health Center tests symptomatic residential students and, where appropriate, residential students who are identified as close contacts of a positive student COVID-19 case.   Commuting students are tested via their primary health care provider or off-campus testing site.

Rider is requiring residential students to be tested in advance of their arrival at the end of January for the spring semester. Testing is offered free of charge at Rider from January 23 through January 27. Otherwise, students can be tested in advance on their own. Rider is also conducting a weekly random surveillance testing program, beginning in February and continuing to the end of April, for students and employees who frequent campus at least once a week. Rider is also continuing its athletics surveillance testing program as per NCAA requirements. This chart reflects this additional testing this semester..
