VPSA Student Advisory Board Description

The purpose of the Board is to provide feedback and student perspective on the experience of students at Rider University. The Board will provide an additional outlet for student voice. Student members are expected to be well-informed on University issues and to represent their personal views, as well as those that represent the wider campus student opinion. Members are encouraged to participate openly and honestly in dialogue, sharing thoughts, ideas and experiences that can contribute to improvements to the overall experience for Rider students. While topics explored may address a variety of issues impacting campus, the conversation will generally support the broad categories of Student Affairs Commitments for students (A Vibrant Campus Community, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Student Success, and Co-Curricular Learning).

Meetings

The Board will meet approximately twice per semester. The meetings will be hosted by the Vice President for Student Affairs and may involve other administrators as appropriate. Members may access the Vice President for Student Affairs to share information and perspective between meetings.

Membership

The VPSA Student Advisory Board is comprised of approximately 20 students who represent the diversity of the Rider University community. Student members reflect various classifications, academic areas of study, social identities and demographics, and campus leadership and involvement.
