How have our donors impacted your education and experience at Rider?
Gifts to the University have allowed me to explore the world in ways I never imagined. Having the bit of assistance has allowed me to travel to Belize, Dominican Republic and Morocco. These trips have changed my view on teaching and have encouraged me to teach abroad! I have been able to share my experiences with my peers, and prospective students. Every time I have the chance to travel, I am thankful for the donors for giving me the extra boost.
If you could speak to a donor right now, what would you say to her or him?
Thank you, thank you, thank you for supporting students and providing us the assistance to follow our dreams. I am so thankful for all that you do and I cannot wait to share my experiences with you.
Have you received any financial aid or scholarship support and if so, how has that impacted your experience at Rider?
Yes, financial aid has allowed me to explore new places around the world. I am thankful for all donors because their gifts allow students to experience their college years to the fullest.
What attracted you to Rider?
I attended Rider’s Student For a Day program and fell in love with the campus, classes and environment. I also knew I wanted to be a teacher and Rider has such a prestigious teaching program that I am so grateful for.
What internships or co-ops have you participated in? Study abroad? Extracurricular activities? Sports?
I have been involved in four field placements to date with the School of Education. I have been at Fisher Middle School, Constable Elementary School, Grover Middle School and Millstone River Elementary School. I have also been abroad to Belize, Dominican Republic and Morocco for short 10-day service learning trips. I am a member of Alpha Phi Omega, the co-ed community service fraternity on campus, Student Government Association, Bonner Community Scholars Program and Club Lacrosse.
Do you work while going to school?
I am currently employed in the Office of Admissions and worked this past summer with the Office of First and Second Year Programs as an orientation leader. I receive a bi-weekly living stipend from the Bonner program but always work additional hours.
