Sing 'n' Joy Princeton 2019

Building bridges through choral music.....Interkultur and Westminster Choir College of Rider University welcome more than 500 choral singers from North America and Asia to participate in the second Sing ‘n’ Joy Princeton International Choral Festival and Competition.  The public is invited to observe competition sessions, a worskhop and Friendship Concerts at no charge.  Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Additionally, Westminster Kantorei will present a special performance at the Princeton University Chapel as part of the Festival on Friday, February 15.  Details and ticket information are below.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 15

3 p.m. – Workshop with Shireen Abu-Khader
Hala – Songs of welcome, love night and dance from Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan
Conductor Shireen Abu-Khader from Jordan takes participants on a musical journey through the  Levant.  Hoping to capture the beauty of the spirit that lies within the music with everyone, participants will experience intricate rhythm structures, simple melodic phrases and Arabic language vocals.

7:30 p.m.  Westminster Kantorei Concert
Westminster Kantorei, conducted by Amanda Quist ,will perform a varied program titled Lily Among Thorns.  The program includes movements of Palestrina's Missa Sicut Lilium Inter Spinas, works by J. S. Bach and Allegri along with modern selections.
