A world-premiere production. At the beginning of the World War II siege of Leningrad the most famous Soviet composer, Shostakovich, was trapped in the dying city, trying to finish writing his Seventh Symphony. During this time of fear and death, a relationship develops between the composer and one of his piano students – a relationship that will lead them from the fires of Leningrad to salvation found through their music.
