Rider Course Option
Rider will waive POL-201 International Relations to be replaced by Rider’s course:  GLS285:  The Student Global Village

Following completion of 30 credits and the Rider Intent to Enroll Form and while a student at Mercer; students have the option to take a course at Rider that counts toward the Rider degree.  The selected course counts academically at both Mercer and Rider and allows the student to experience first-hand the academic environment at Rider.  See Mercer or Rider Transfer Representatives. Mercer County Community College Footnotes
1 MAT 125 and 120 are recommended. Consult your academic advisor and the institution(s) to which you plan to apply for transfer regarding their math requirements.
2 Courses must be taken in a progressive sequence limited to one language; or, two semesters each of two languages.
3 Select from ENG 203 (World Literature I), ENG 204 (World Literature II), ENG 232 (Post-Colonial Women Writers), ENG 234 (Caribbean Literature), or ENG/REL 235 (Encounters Between Religions Studied Through Literature).
4 Substitution of a different Technology general education course or a second Natural Science general education course is possible only after consultation with an academic advisor or transfer counselor.
5 Select carefully, with assistance from an academic advisor or transfer counselor.
6 Select from all Social Science general education courses as well as many – not necessarily general education – in CMN, CRJ, EDU, POL, PSY, SOC, and WGS course categories. One elective must be at the 200 level. The list of Social Science program electives is available in the Liberal Arts Division or from an academic advisor.
7 Recommended: ANT 101 (Anthropology), ART 124 (History of Non-Western Art), BUS 230 (Global Environment of Business), HIS 215 (The Holocaust and Other Genocides), HOS 115 (Food and Culture), SOC/WGS 132 (Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies), SOC 203 (Urban Sociology).
HPE 111 (3 CR) is an acceptable alternative.

Ʊ – Students have a number of options to fulfill this requirement; courses are evaluated on an individual basis.
For transfer credit the Mercer student must have a grade of “C” or higher in all courses.
Mercer students interested in the College of Continuing Studies (CCS) at Rider should contact that divisor directly.
