Slaps, punches, throws, falls, kicks, stabs, and slashes - What better way to spend your summer! Taught by Broadway fight choreograph and Society of American Fight Directors Fight Master Ian Rose, this 50-hour intensive will cover fro the ground up two of the most used weapons in stage combat. Basic Unarmed will train the combatant to use falls, slaps, hair pulls, chokes, punches, and kicks safely to tell compelling stories. Single Sword will introduce participants to sword disciplines with the weapon of choice for swashbucklers and pirates alike. This week culminate in a public performance and Skills Proficiency Test adjudicated by a Fight Master from the SAFD and invited guests. Participants must be able to commit to all training times.

Baritone Sean McCarther serves as Assistant Professor of Voice at Westminster Choir College where he teaches studio voice and undergraduate voice science. In May of 2012 he received his doctorate in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy with minors in music theory and movement/postural analysis at Indiana University. He studied voice with Dr. Robert Harrison and pedagogy with the late Paul Kiesgen. Dr. McCarther earned his Master of Music degree with an emphasis in speech pathology at Indiana University and his Bachelor of Music degree at Baylor University, where he studied with Jack Coldiron.
