Designed for licensed music educators who want to enhance their impact as a music educator, Westminster’s Choral Emphasis M.M.E. program will improve your conducting, teaching and rehearsal skills. 

Benefit from valuable experiential learning opportunities where you’ll have the chance to perform with the Westminster Symphonic Choir or one of our seven choral ensembles, conduct student-organized ensembles and find assistantship opportunities with conducting and music education faculty.

Course Requirements

Our 30-33 credit graduate curriculum is designed for students who wish to focus on music education with a choral emphasis.. Students choose between a thesis track—for those who want the ability to conduct research and who may wish to pursue doctoral studies—and a pedagogy track for music teachers who want to improve their teaching effectiveness.

The degree is for those who hold an undergraduate degree in music education and a teaching certificate. Students do not earn teacher certification through this degree program.
