Dear Students and Friends of the Westminster College of the Arts,
Welcome to the WCA website. Here, you will find detailed information about our renowned programs, our astounding faculty and our performance activities. I am sure that you will find much here to excite your passion for the arts, and I hope that we will see you at one of the many public events we sponsor each year.
This is an incredibly exciting time for us, and I hope that you will find something in these pages to excite your passion for the arts – be that as a student, an audience member, a member of our esteemed alumni, or someone as moved by the arts as we are. The Westminster College of the Arts comprises Westminster Choir College, the School of Fine and Performing Arts, and Westminster Conservatory, our community music school. Through Westminster Continuing Education, we offer seminars, workshops, and courses for lifelong learners.
From dozens of solo recitals to concerts with the world’s major orchestras and roles on Broadway and opera stages, our students and graduates continue to present emotionally stirring performances to world-wide audiences. We have added several new undergraduate and graduate degrees, ranging from Game and Interactive Media Design to Dance Therapy and a new track in Musical Theatre within our Master of Voice Pedagogy program. I am very excited by the evolution of our Arts and Entertainment Industries Management degree, which now includes both non-profit and for-profit tracks. The work produced by students in all our programs is astounding in its quality, and I am sure you will find the messages we convey to be diverse, thought-provoking and emotionally stimulating. For those of you considering the Westminster College of the Arts as a home for study, I know that you will find the “stories” behind these activities encouraging, motivating and challenging.
In fall 2019, the Westminster Choir began a yearlong celebration of its 100th anniversary. Festivities will include a tour of the west coast in January, performances at the Baldwin Wallace Bach Festival in April, and special concerts at the Spoleto Festival USA festival in May. Westminster Choir College has and continues to embody the highest level of musical achievement, preparing musicians to perform and to serve and lead schools, churches, musical organizations and private music studios. The School of Fine and Performing Arts attracts students from around the nation, and now claims alumni performing on Broadway, in touring companies and Disney productions, and many who lead and teach in dance studios, arts management positions, and schools.
I hope that you will visit us – on campus, at a performance or exhibit, through a recording, video, or podcast – and that I will have the opportunity to share more of our story with you.
