VIRTUAL Summer Programs FAQs

Which programs are continuing online and which programs are cancelled?
Based on ongoing state and federal recommendations to reduce the spread of coronavirus, this summer Rider University is providing remote and alternative instruction and is committed to providing the same quality programming in an exciting new format. For programs continuing virtually, all class instruction with Rider faculty, masterclass sessions, and materials will be provided. 

However, due to the on-campus resources, equipment, and/or minimum software requirements, we are unable to offer select courses remotely. View a complete list of cancelled programs. We very much hope to see you next year.

Will the cost of the programs change?
Although you will work with the same Rider faculty and industry professionals as you would on campus, we are offering some of our programs at a reduced rate.

The cost for our PreCollege Programs, which previously included housing and meals, will be $495 for one-week programs or $995 for two-week programs. A $50 application fee reserves your spot in the program and is included in the total tuition price shown above.

What happens to the money I’ve already paid? When are payments due?
All payments that you’ve already made will be applied to your new program. If you’ve already paid in full for a program that is now a lower price, you will be refunded the difference. Your program should be paid in full two weeks prior to the beginning of the program.

What if I decide to cancel my registration?
We would hate for you to miss out on the exciting programming we have in store but if you decide to cancel your enrollment all payments, including the application fee, will be refunded.

How will this program be delivered online? 
Though you are not on campus, you will work closely with our distinguished Rider faculty and special guests in a dynamic online platform. Rider has been at the forefront of distance learning, providing you with an exciting and engaging experience.

What technical requirements are needed?
For an optimal experience, we recommend a laptop or desktop computer with internet capabilities. Sessions will be conducted through a password protected Zoom link. Attendees will be entered into a waiting room before they enter each class.

How often will we meet?
Although each program director will set their specific schedule, the goal is to meet 2 - 3 times a day for sessions lasting approximately 90 minutes.  Additional sessions will feature masterclasses with award-winning artists and seasoned professionals in their respective industries. Special sessions may also include discussions with other students and alumni.

What if I can’t attend/miss a session at the scheduled time?
Because these are college-level and professional education programs, regular attendance is necessary to get the most out of your program. If you have advance notice of an absence, inform the director/instructor to arrange for special accommodations, if available.
