Rider University’s BRONCast Sports Media Academy introduces high school students to a comprehensive, behind-the-scenes experience in the sports broadcasting and journalism arena. Students are immersed into learning all facets of sports media for their professional goals, from interviewing skills, traits of sports journalism to fast-action motion photography and much more!

  • Hands-on projects include: sports writing, capturing video and building a real-time social media presence

  • Tour Rider’s state-of-the-art TV Studio, Award-Winning Radio Station-107.7 The Bronc and interactive digital media labs

  • Learn about live streams, replays of sports events and podcasts

  • Field trips: tour a Major League facility, attend a Minor League game
  • Explore a B.A. in Sports Media and discuss careers in sports administration

  • Preview college living and prepare for undergraduate life. Stay in a college dorm and participate in campus activities. (Commuter option available.)

Rider University's pre-college enrichment programs are structured to introduce students to a full college campus experience. From rigorous coursework, access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to on-campus housing and activities, students will explore college life at Rider University. Enrichment programs are non-credit bearing, however regular attendance and completed assignments are expected. Students are evaluated by the same academic standards and procedures as Rider University undergraduates. 


Students opting to take advantage of the for credit option will be required to submit additional coursework. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive 3 college credits from Rider University. Students planning to transfer these credits to another accredited institution should be aware that acceptance of these credits is at the discretion of the institution. We recommend that you contact the institution to confirm their transfer credit policy.
