2017–2018 Beta Alpha Psi Officers

Beta Alpha Psi is the national honor society that recognizes excellence in students of accounting, finance and computer information systems. Under the direction of faculty advisers Iram Khan and Dr. Yunxia (Peter) Zhu, Rider’s Kappa Epsilon chapter of Beta Alpha Psi gives students the opportunity to participate in a variety of professional and community service events, as well as network with numerous industry professionals. This year’s induction ceremony was held on April 28 and featured the following elected officers for the 2017-18 academic year:

Brian Kluse '18, President (Left Bottom Row), is a senior accounting student who plans to start taking his CPA when he graduates. Brian is a tutor for the accounting labs offered by Rider and is an active member of Beta Alpha Psi and the Accounting Society. He took part in two internships his junior year, one winter co-op at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and a summer internship at EY, both in the Assurance practice and will be joining EY full time in Fall of 2018.. His life Philosophy is "you always miss 100% of the shots you never take".

Joe Gant ’18, Vice-President (Right Bottom Row), is a Senior studying Accounting. Joe is very active on campus by participating in various other student organizations. He is the apart of Men's Club Golf Team, Adventure Club, and of course Beta Alpha Psi. Joe has interned with WithumSmith&Brown, in their tax department, and with Munich Reinsurance, in their internal audit department. In his spare time, Joe enjoys hiking, skiing, and playing golf. His philosophy in life is: “Stay humble. Stay hungry.”

Sarah McMekin '18, Secretary (Left Top Row), is a senior accounting student and is planning on passing the CPA exam once she graduates. Sarah has been involved in many on campus jobs and clubs including Student Instructor, Rider University Conference Services, Adventure Club, Beta Alpha Psi, and the Accounting society. She has interned with PricewaterhouseCoopers during her junior year and has accepted a full time position in their Assurance department starting Fall of 2018. One of her favorite quotes is "Let your smile change the world but don't let the world change your smile."

Angela Cotugno’ 19, Treasurer (Right Top Row), is a junior accounting and finance student who plans to start taking her CPA exam once she graduates. Angela has been involved in multiple organizations on campus including Beta Alpha Psi, Institute Management of Accountants, Aspiring Accounting Professionals, Leadership Development Program, and SGA. Angela has also been a division one student athlete in track and field for the past two ye​​ars. She is going to be a Corporate Management Intern for KPMG next summer. Her favorite quote is “Enjoy the little things in life for one day you’ll look back and realize they were the big things” by Kurt Vonnegut. 

John Heintz ’19 Community Service Chair (Middle Top Row), is a junior accounting major who plans to complete the MAcc Program upon graduation. John is involved with many organizations on campus including Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity as well as SGA. He recently completed a summer internship with Munich Reinsurance in their Corporate Tax department. One of his favorite quotes is, “Don’t stop when you’re tired, stop when you’re done”.
