Mercer Room, Rider University, Lawrenceville Campus
Rider University’s Center for the Development of Leadership Skills is proud to host our 5th annual Leadership Symposium!

The vision of the symposium is to foster an opportunity for student leaders from various higher education institutions to interact with each other through the shared experience of learning from and dialoging with knowledgeable professionals. Every year, students from regional universities, such as TCNJ, Rutgers, Seton Hall, and The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, are invited to join us for the symposium.  It’s a wonderful opportunity for student leaders to meet each other and come together in the shared interest of learning about leadership.

In past symposiums, we’ve focused our discussions on ethics, civic engagement, the ways in which technology is changing how leadership is practiced, and what it means to be a culturally minded leader.

This year, the theme of symposium will challenge our participants to learn about and develop strategies for effective communication.

Workshops during the seminar will touch upon the art and science of communication and how to utilize it to receive information, connect with individuals and motivate and influence others. Throughout the day, participants will learn from experienced and knowledgeable professionals, as well as participate in interactive activities that will ask them to utilize and practice the knowledge gained in the workshops.

The symposium is unique in that the 50 student participants are able to engage in meaningful dialogue with peers and leadership educators, as well as share their ideas and best practices with each other.  This event is free for students and lunch is provided.

We sincerely hope that you will consider joining us for Rider’s Leadership Symposium 2019!  We are in the midst of constructing a transformative and collaborative experience, but you are welcome to register today to claim your seat for this well-received and engaging event!
