On the campus of Rider University lies a room that comes alive each evening with the energy and excitement of students. Their mission is to increase Annual Giving participation among alumni, parents, and friends, while also establishing ties with those who are not able to come back to campus. As a matter of fact, these students are the key element to increasing support and for Rider University.

Rider hires approximately 50 Phonathon students who call during the Fall and Spring semesters. The goal of each attempted call is to make a connection with alumni to build relationships and secure support. It offers a unique opportunity to build communication skills, network with alumni, and develop a solid résumé – all while being paid!

Hours per week: 8 minimum - 20 maximum (shifts Sunday through Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday day calling)

Sunday 1:30 – 4:30 pm / 5:45 – 9 pm
Monday-Thursday 5:45 pm - 9 pm
Friday 5:45 – 8:30 pm
Saturday 10 am – 2 pm / 2:30 – 4:30 pm

Must work at least 2 shifts per week (3 shifts strongly encouraged)

Pay rate: Beginning rates at $8.50/hour (seniority increases) plus daily and weekly incentives!

Location of position: Joseph P. Vona Annex Phonathon Room

Duties and responsibilities: Call Rider University alumni, parents, and friends, to raise private support dollars for The Rider Fund. The Rider Fund dollars are the most flexible, enabling the university to direct resources where and when they’re needed the most.

The Rider Fund helps:

  • support student scholarships
  • recruit and retain a diverse, world-class faculty
  • pave the way for groundbreaking research

Minimum qualifications: 
Must be dependable, have strong work ethic and excellent communication and people skills. Must exhibit a friendly and positive attitude, and demonstrate proper telephone etiquette. Training will be provided to those hired.
