Pianist Alan Feinberg has forged a remarkable career based on musical exploration. He is an experienced performer of both classical and contemporary music, and he is well known for recitals that pair old and new music. He has received four Grammy Award nominations for best instrumentalist, and he has recorded a wide range of American repertoire. Mr. Feinberg has performed as a soloist with the Chicago Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, London Philharmonia, Montreal Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and many others.
The program will feature works from his recently released alum, Basically Bull, which was described by The New York Times as “translating the exquisite chromatic ruminations and intricate counterpoint of [John] Bull’s keyboard works, and of some contemporaries, into the lush sound world of the modern piano.” In addition to works by Bull, Feinberg will also perform compositions by William Byrd, Thomas Tomkins, William Blitheman, Orlando Gibbons, John Redford, Frédéric Chopin and Charles Wuorinen.
Westminster College of the Arts gratefully acknowledges the generous support of Dr. Helmuth H. Fuchs.
