BERNSTEIN: Mass: A Theatre Piece for Singers, Players and Dancers

Westminster Symphonic Choir joins The Philadelphia Orchestra in performances of Leonard Bernstein's Mass: A Theatre Piece for Singers, Players and Dancers.

While Bernstein employed many of the elements of a traditional Mass, he also drew upon his Broadway experience, as well as other religious and popular genres. The piece is a remarkable and visionary work that utilizes a plethora of musical styles to relay the text. The spiritual center of the work travels through a crisis of faith to eventual reconciliation and peace.
