Panel Discussion: The Creative Spirit: Thursday, September 26, 7 p.m.
When he suffered a traumatic brain injury in a 1985 bicycling accident, artist and teacher John Sears encountered physical and emotional obstacles that challenged his spirit and his ability to make art. This exhibit will chronicle his journey as an artist. It will include drawings and paintings created before and after his injury, illustrating his approach to life and to art: “Contrast is the Key.”
Panel Discussion
What is it that inspires us to create? What drives people to create in spite of physical, emotional or economic challenges? How can we encourage the creative spirit that lies in all people? Gallery Director Harry I. Naar will lead a discussion with artist and teacher Cynthia Groya, Rider University Professor of Psychology John Suler and Anne Sears.
