Westminster Neighborhood Children’s Choir

This new choral experience for young singers in grades 3 through 5 is led by Assistant Professor Tom Shelton, assisted by Westminster Choir College students, in collaboration with the Princeton Family YMCA.  The Westminster Neighborhood Children’s Choir offers choir members the opportunity to sing together, play musical games and develop music reading skills.

Who is this for?
Open to rising students grade 2 through 5 in Princeton and the surrounding communities.  Open to all and free.

When and where does this occur?
Rehearsals are Monday from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Henry Pannell Learning Center, 2 Clay Street, Princeton, N.J.

Assistant Professor of Sacred Music

Assistant Professor of Sacred Music, Tom T. Shelton earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has 22 years of experience with youth choirs in school, church and community settings. He was selected as Teacher of the Year by two separate middle schools, and in 1999 he was awarded the North Carolina Middle School Music Teacher of the Year by the North Carolina Music Educators Association.
