Westminster Neighborhood Children’s Choir

This new choral experience for young singers in grades 3 through 5 is presented by the Westminster Choir College Sacred Music and Music Education Departments.  Led by Assistant Professor Tom T. Shelton, assisted by Westminster Choir College students, the Westminster Neighborhood Children’s Choir will offer choir members the opportunity to sing, play musical games and develop music reading skills.

Who is this for?
Open to rising 3rd – 5th grade students in Princeton and the surrounding communities.  Open to all and free.

When and where does this occur?
Rehearsals are Monday from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. at Christ Church across Walnut Lane from Westminster Choir College.

Assistant Professor of Sacred Music, Tom T. Shelton earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has 22 years of experience with youth choirs in school, church and community settings. He was selected as Teacher of the Year by two separate middle schools, and in 1999 he was awarded the North Carolina Middle School Music Teacher of the Year by the North Carolina Music Educators Association.
