Sacred Music Faculty
Joe Miller is conductor of two of America’s most renowned choral ensembles: the Westminster Choir and the Westminster Symphonic Choir. He is also director of choral activities at Westminster Choir College of Rider University. In addition to his responsibilities at Westminster, Dr. Miller is artistic director for choral activities for the renowned Spoleto Festival USA.
Kathleen Scheide has concertized as a harpsichord and organ soloist throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, the Far East and the Caribbean. She has received touring artist grants from the Arkansas Arts Council, California Arts Council and the American Embassy, Vienna. Dr. Scheide regularly performs chamber music as Due Solisti (flute/organ) with Czech flutist Zofie Volalkova under the management of Phillip Truckenbrod Concert Artists; and with Le Meslange des Plaisirs on historic string keyboard instruments.
Tom T. Shelton, Jr. is a native of Greensboro, N.C. and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he earned both a Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in Choral Conducting. He is assistant professor of Sacred Music at Westminster Choir College. Focusing on children’s and youth music at Westminster, he teaches classes in conducting, sacred music and music education. In addition, he is the director of Children's and Youth Choirs at Princeton United Methodist Church. He is also conductor of the Westminster Neighborhood Children’s Choir.
Marking her 25th year as conductor of the Westminster Concert Bell Choir, Kathleen Ebling Shaw is a member of the sacred music department at Westminster Choir College of Rider University, where she teaches classes in handbell training and conducts a second handbell choir. She is a graduate of Westminster Choir College.
Brandon Waddles, a Detroit native, holds a bachelor's degree from Morehouse College and studied Voice Pedagogy and Performance at Westminster Choir College. He is a conductor, collaborative pianist and voice coach, as well as a published composer/arranger.
