The School of Fine and Performing Arts is pleased to offer Talent Awards to qualified incoming students majoring in Music Theater or Theater. Talent Award may be combined with the University’s merit scholarships, are renewable for four years and are offered in exchange for involvement in three mainstage Music Theater or Theater Department productions each academic year.
Interested students will be able to audition for the Talent Award during the School of Fine and Performing Arts Auditions held at Rider University.

Application Information
Students must:
- Apply for admission to Rider University
- Attend one of the School of Fine and Performing Arts audition days.
Terms of the Scholarship
- A student attending Rider University under this scholarship must major in Music Theater or Theater.
- The recipient must audition for three major music theater or theater productions each production year and accept any acting role or technical position offered by the director.
- The recipient must maintain full-time enrollment status and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Annual renewal is subject to review by the faculty.
Audition Information
- Auditions will be held during the School of Fine and Performing Arts admission auditions.
- Students should follow the audition and/or interview requirements for the intended major. Specific audition requirements can be found at www.rider.edu/ugauditions
If you choose a monologue from a book of monologues, get a copy of the entire script and study it as part of your preparation. You may be asked to comment on it.

Post Audition Information
- Applicants will be notified of the Talent Award in the form of a letter which is included in the admission decision package.
- Recipients must notify Rider University by May 1 of their intention to enroll.
