The purpose of Rider University Club Swimming is to provide students of Rider University participation in an organized team sport. Besides swimming, our organization focuses on developing participants not only by improving athletic skills, but also leadership skills and group dynamic skills.
Each member will be required to pay an annual due of $5 -$10 to the organization. These dues will be used to purchase equipment, such as team caps and additional apparel. The dues will also allow us to schedule meets to ensure that the season is successful. Once a member of Club Swimming, each individual is required to attend aquatic and dry land practices at least twice a week.
Advisor: Stanley Horton
Practice and Game Schedule
Fall Semester: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 930pm-1030pm in the Coppola Pool, Maurer Center.
Spring Semester: Monday and Tuesday from 930pm-1030pm in the Coppola Pool, Maurer Center.
There is no formal league associated with Club Swimming; however we do participate in 2-4 swim meets per semester. Rider Swim Club competes against local teams such as TCNJ, Rowan University, Stevens Institute of Technology, Princeton University, Temple University and many more. In order to be eligible to compete in an upcoming meet, members cannot miss more than four practices.
The club participated in a Thanksgiving food drive last year and we are looking forward to doing it again. In addition to that, we are planning more community service events/meets and will be paring up with other organisms to plan other events.
