The Proof Is In Our People
Why George Chose Rider
"Before coming to Rider, I met many successful Rider alumni whose careers were shaped by their experiences at the University. They included my aunt, who worked her way up to management in the health care industry," George said.
Rider's Impact on George's Success
In summer of 2008, George was selected to participate in the Deloitte National Leadership Conference in Arizona as well as the Ernst & Young Summer Leadership Program. He also had a co-op with Johnson and Johnson, giving him the opportunity to see both public accounting and corporate accounting/finance. "I had a full-time job offer from Deloitte at the end of my junior year after my internship there, and one from Johnson & Johnson in October of my senior year."
"Rider gave me the opportunity to take on leadership roles in clubs and organizations, where I was able to develop crucial skills that are needed in the workplace, such as communicating effectively and working on a team,” George noted. “This balancing act is something that I was able to hone through my activities at Rider — and a skill I use on the job every day."
George held leadership positions with the Finance Board, Residence Hall Association, Club Sports Council, Ice Hockey Club and Community Standards Board. He was also a member of the Accounting Society, Club Lacrosse and Beta Alpha Psi. He was an Admission Tour Guide and Orientation Staff member, and a brother of Alpha Epsilon Pi.
