Rider University is pleased to announce the final phase of the Learning Management System Evaluation initiative. As a result, Rider will move from Blackboard to Canvas. Over the past year, a team of faculty and staff has worked together to create learning modules and training videos, all of which are designed to make the transition as smooth as possible.  We look forward to the completion of this endeavor which will result in improved experiences for both students and teachers.

When is Canvas available to the Rider Community?

When is Canvas officially replace Blackboard?
Canvas will officially replace Blackboard learning management system with the start of May 18, 2013. All summer I courses will be offered in Canvas Only. Course materials from past courses stored in Blackboard course sites will still be accessible until May 31, 2014.

Learning Outcomes functionality setup is scheduled for phase 2 of the Canvas Implementation. It is available to try, but the official launch will be July 1, 2013.
