Scholarships for Audition-Based Arts Majors

Because of the unique nature of our professional programs in the performing arts, Westminster College of the Arts awards scholarships to students in audition-based majors that recognize the combined competitiveness of their academic and artistic accomplishment. These scholarships range in size from $7,000 to $21,000 annually, based on the student's audition results, GPA, and SAT or ACT scores.

To be considered for an academic scholarship you must:

  • Submit your completed application for admission, including official transcripts, standardized test scores, essay, and one letter of recommendation;
  • Complete an audition, if required;
  • Be regularly admissible to the University as a full-time student;
  • Have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA (unweighted) on a 4.0 scale; and
  • Have a minimum SAT I Critical Reading and Math combined score of 1000 or ACT composite score of 21.

Scholarship Deadline:  January 15

**To be considered for the maximum amount of scholarships for which you are eligible, your application must be complete, including all required credentials.  If you are applying for a major that requires an audition, auditions scheduled for an audition day after January 15 will not disqualify you from full scholarship consideration.

To secure an award, you must submit your deposit on or before the deposit deadline (May 1, 2012 for Fall term).

Important Notes about Scholarships:

  • If you qualify for more than one Rider scholarship, you will receive the award of the greatest monetary value.
  • All awards are made annually in the form of grants and scholarships.
  • Academic scholarships are subject to change.
  • Rider will only consider the Critical Reading and Math components of the SAT or the ACT composite score for award eligibility.
  • Your cumulative GPA through the seventh semester, December ACT, and December SAT will be the latest academic information considered for awards.
