Rider University’s Center for Business Forensics will host “Who Knows Fraud Better than a Fraudster?” featuring Sam Antar, former CPA and former chief financial officer of home electronics giant Crazy Eddie, Inc. — one of the largest securities-fraud operations of its time. The event, which will be held on Tuesday, October 27, is free and open to the public. Antar, who helped mastermind the now-defunct consumer electronic business with his cousin, Eddie Antar and uncle, Sam M. Antar, will provide straight talk and facts as to the dangers of fraud, lack of internal controls, lack of careful auditing, and how criminals take advantage of human nature and the weaknesses of others. Presentation highlights will include learning about white-collar crime from a fraudster, understanding how to detect fraud and discovering the consequences of committing fraud. A Q&amp;A session will follow the presentation. The event will be held from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. in The Mercer Room in Daly Dining Hall on the Lawrenceville campus, 2083 Lawrenceville Road. The Center for Business Forensics is also a partner in the Cyber Crime and Forensics Institute, a multi-university, cross-disciplinary program with East Stroudsburg University and Drexel University that addresses issues related to computer forensics that are vital to law enforcement at all levels of government.
