Message from the Chair

Marge O’Reilly-AllenDear Accounting Alumni and Friends,

Best wishes from your alma mater. The spring 2012 semester was busy and very successful for the Accounting department, and this issue brings you news of our activities, but allow me to share a few highlights.

As many of you may know, the College of Business Administration (CBA) and the Accounting Program are separately accredited by the global Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). This dual accreditation is held by less than 4 percent of universities and colleges worldwide. To maintain this accreditation, a program must be reviewed by the AACSB in the areas of strategic planning, faculty qualifications, interaction with the profession and assurance of learning every five years. We are pleased to announce that our most recent maintenance of accreditation visit took place in January of this year and both CBA and Accounting were awarded maintenance of accreditation.  We were also commended for many of our accomplishments.
